No thread for the match with our historic rivals? The build up alone would have been a ten pager back in the day.....
Anyway, Elanga was just one on one but somehow missed. Get the impression he’s a better provider than finisher?
Liverpool with more of the play but all in all we’re not doing too bad. 28 minutes 0-0.

Second half we’re sitting too deep, it’s all Liverpool. Can we withstand?

A counter attack and Elanga misses a good chance again, oh dear.

Liverpool win it with a 99th minute header from Nunez. Can’t say it wasn’t deserved on the day, but grates a bit that we’ve lost twice to big teams this week with late goals.
Luton two games in hand over us and four points behind, if we get FFP point deduction next week that’ll be us in the relegation zone.

This season has a bad taste to it. Nothing going our way and late goals now being conceded. Hard to keep positive.

Corrr that one was tough to take. We massively deserved a point - maybe 3 with the chances we created.
Awoniyi didn't look fit but still put a shift in. Danilo's set-piece defending is problematic.
Still think we'll be alright unless we whacked with a huge points deduction.

How many chances does it take Elanga to score? He is young and delighted to have him at Forest but he needs to be more clinical. Those two chances today one of those needs to go in. Worried he is just another one of Forests pacey players with little end product.

Worried he is just another one of Forests pacey players with little end product. Elanga’s league goal scoring record in the last three seasons: 21 played 2 goals 16 played 0 goals 25 played 5 goals He’s quick and I’m sure he could set up chances for others but that isn’t a goal scorer’s record. He’s nearly 22 and crazy as it might sound in terms of how modern footballers develop that isn’t all that young. If he was going to become a top scorer you’d expect him to be scoring more regularly by now. If he was predicted to be that good a scorer I imagine Man Utd wouldn’t have let him go. With his pace he can definitely make a positive contribution in creating chances for others, that’s how I’d deploy him.

Remember long time back with the Chelsea game thought that finish was class. Think he panics too much. He gives himself another second and some of these chances might be easier. Elanga has the ability not as clumsy but those stats tell a story.

All these calls that have gone against us need to be factored in when considering our points deduction. Already on 7 points at least.

I left the CG pretty devastated on Saturday.
We did so much in that game to deserve a draw, could maybe have even won it.
Ref was a cock, we know that but.... We proper shot ourselves in the foot with not clearing that bastard corner.
It really is astounding the amount of defensive fuck ups we've made this season that has cost us. There's loads of them.
With that and VAR decisions e.g. newcastle, I reckon we'd be at least 10 points better off.
The positive is though tat I think we're playing really well and I think we can match most teams in this league. We just need to do it against teams we should be beating.
Some potentially easier games coming up which we need to take quite a lot of points from.

Elanga was only one forward at the time. Awoniyi is nowhere near where he was before injury. Fingers crossed he gets back there sooner than later.
