I am confident Marianakis knows what the financial performance of Forest is like given he has ploughed small fortune in and we will be ok. Bournemouth must be in a fairly similar position to us with much less of a revenue stream outside player sales.
In my opinion this pressure is not coming from a moral place that is looking to protect the future of clubs for the fans. Instead I feel this is being pushed by corrupt officials with the intention of creating the super league and this legal action will be used as a step to arguing other clubs are unable to compete with these big clubs by initially restricting options open to lower revenue clubs.

This whole story is based on idle speculation from some nobody. There's no evidence whatsoever so far that we've breached any rules. Id be surprised if we had - any decent accountant could keep the transfer budget in limit.
Everton got done on a technicality (interest on capital spend) and the ruling was incorrect (I do real estate tax work). They obviously forgot to bribe the comittee.

Yes he converted debt to shares, in lart so he doesn't have to charge interest to the club. Minor impact of FFP mind. The Athletic saying we're expecting to be charged: theathletic.com/5201666/2024/01/14/nottingham-forest-everton-ffp/Best hope of avoiding a points deduction is claiming mitigation of Jonno being sold just after the accounting date. The argument would be Brentford etc lowballed us in June knowing we were an FFP risk. We held out till August to get his market val. It's been said we were in contact with the FFP committee at the time about this so there's hope. A 10 point deduction would put us 6 points behind Luton in 17th.

Reckon we'd survive?

Surely the fact we spent two seasons in the championship means Forest are below the spending threshold?

Surely the fact we spent two seasons in the championship means Forest are below the spending threshold? I think that counts against us. Ultimately FFP is there to protect the big clubs, which is why it applies to us and Everton but not City or Chelsea.

If this happens in any other type of business the buck stops with the Directors. We can moan about the rules but they are there to stop clubs doing a Portsmouth. Being from Portsmouth I remember that debacle all too well ... the owner Alexandre Gaydamak loaded the club up with debt to buy marquee signings, Redknapp skimmed off vast commissions, Pompey went bankrupt and dropped 2 divisions - where they still languish. It's not that hard to run a budget and accounting system with safeguards to prevent breaching the FFP rules. I find it hard to believe Murphy or the Marinakis would deliberately breach FFP - that would be foolish. So what we're seeing here is mismanagement, and may explains some of the leadership changes made to the club over the past year. Either way it seems they need a better accountant. Where to apply?

Everton points deduction reduced from 10 to 6. Not sure where that leaves us for next week. However, Everton above us by 1 point as a result.

8 points I reckon

I reckon less. Everton had theirs reduced on the grounds 10 was inconsistent with previous punishment meted out for insolvency etc. The same applies here.
It will come down to how big the breach was and to what extent the panel accepts the delayed-sale-of-Jonno argument. Could end up at 4.
8 and I think Luton might pip us tbh. Either way Leeds, Soton and Leicester will sue us.

-4. Could have been worse.

So we're a point behind Luton with these games left:
30 March - Crystal Palace (h)2 April - Fulham (h)8 April - Tottenham (a)13 April - Wolves (h)20 April - Everton (a)27 April - Manchester City (h)4 May - Sheffield United (a)11 May - Chelsea (h)19 May - Burnley (a)
And Everton probably looking at another -4 too to go level with us.
Getting Awoniyi fit could be the difference.

Was expecting more, An appeal may bring it down to 3 points, just need to win a few games, could come down to goal difference and the last game of the season who I think is against Burnley.

I’m more angry at the 4 point gap we would have had on Luton had we kept the clean sheet on Saturday. Would be pretty comfy then. Now it’s up to the team to grow a pair and win some matches.

Decent result, I was expecting six. I can't see why would get anything from an appeal but I hope we (and Everton) dol just so it drags on after the end of the season to show what a farce the whole thing is.
Although to he honest we deserve to go down for being such a shambles. Again.
